omio — a travel app

I joined the monetization team at omio in fall of 2021 as a frontend engineer.

During my time here, I worked on both the website and the mobile apps, in about a 75:25 ratio.

In my team we've worked on things that would bring money to omio on top of ticket sales, and pricing those tickets in a way that is acceptable to travelers but also lets the company stay afloat.

Together with other engineers, product manager and designers, we've made it easier to buy travel insurance or cancel your ticket and get (most of) your money back no-questions-asked (we called this omio flex).

We also did a lot of experimenting with different looks and options for our features, and then went forward with the ones that seemed to work best.

I've done a lot of general frontend-developer-at-large-company stuff too, like review the code written by other devs, write documentation, work on our shared component library and have lots of back-and-forths with UX.

In 2023, I moved over to the “fintech” team in the company, to work on even more, different features that make travel easier.

Through my 2 years here, I learned a lot from a bunch of really cool people that I got to work together with on a product that has a lot of potential.
